Nevada Women’s Business Center (NWBC) is a leading innovative statewide economic development corporation that’s been growing entrepreneur’s in their development through training, counseling, and coaching and assisting our clients with referrals when necessary.
We open the doors of opportunity by providing all individuals who are interested in starting, strengthening or expanding businesses with access to critical resources such as responsible financial products and quality business and financial education.
We focus on individuals who face barriers in accessing traditional financing or resources in pursuit of their dreams and economic well-being …in particular: women, people of color, veterans and low-income individuals. Approximately 30% of our clients are men.
Every day we work hard to achieve our social goal of improving the economic well-being of individuals by advancing inclusive entrepreneurship and facilitating self-sufficiency strategies.

MEET OUR TEAM
Leanna Jenkins
Director
As Director of the Nevada Women’s Business Center, Leanna is dedicated to the development, empowerment, and success of women and minority entrepreneurs in Nevada. A passionate and engaging public speaker, Leanna regularly presents at local and national events. With her combined passion and successful track-record, Leanna is a respected and sought-out leader in the community where she sits on three committees with the Nevada Department of Business and Industry, working with the State of Nevada and the needs of small businesses in the state. On invitation in 2014, Leanna attended the hearing of U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship for Empowering Women Entrepreneurs.
Since graduating from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, Leanna has partnered with and counseled businesses for over twenty years in various capacities including business development, marketing, financial projections and business plan development. She has also worked with compliance, and development of policies and procedures. Leanna has counseled small and mid-size businesses on their strategic planning and has led, trained, and facilitated staff development for large teams.
Kathleen Taylor
Program & Marketing Coordinator
As a former entrepreneur, Kathleen’s goal is to enhance the professional development of new and established small business owners by providing effective resources to ensure their success. She has 15 years of experience in small business development, corporate training, partnership development, and strategic planning. She uses her experience in scientific research and public health to analyze the feasibility of proposed business concepts, models, and business plan development for entrepreneurs. She is a magna cume laude graduate from Grambling University with a BS in Biology.
