Denette Braud – Braud’s Funnel Cake Café

Denette Braud started Braud’s Funnel Cake Café in 2006. She was inspired to enter the mobile food industry when, “At that time, I couldn’t find a funnel cake anywhere. Being an entrepreneur at heart, I saw the potential and the opportunity to fill a need in Las Vegas”.

Competitively, Braud’s Funnel Cake Café has the only funnel cake store in Las Vegas. “We are unique in that we’ve added a gourmet twist to a carnival favorite by offering a variety of toppings such as banana split, bacon, s’mores, and many more”.

Denette sites her greatest achievement as, “Taking our business from a 10X10 pop-up tent to a mobile concession trailer and now a store at the Town Square Center in Las Vegas”. Braud’s Funnel Cake Café plans to expand to at least two stores and hire additional personnel based on the company’s growth and development. Denette acknowledges the Nevada Women’s Business Center as a resource that helped with her development as a business owner.

Advice that Denette shares with an existing or aspiring small business owner is, “”Find a need and fill it. Then, do research on the product, service, target customer, prices, etc.. Also, be different, be patient, and provide exceptional service”.
