Nevada Women’s Business Center (NWBC) is a leading innovative statewide economic development corporation that’s been growing entrepreneur’s in their development through training, counseling, and coaching and assisting our clients with referrals when necessary.
We open the doors of opportunity by providing all individuals who are interested in starting, strengthening or expanding businesses with access to critical resources such as responsible financial products and quality business and financial education.
We focus on individuals who face barriers in accessing traditional financing or resources in pursuit of their dreams and economic well-being …in particular: women, people of color, veterans and low-income individuals. Approximately 30% of our clients are men.

MEET OUR TEAM

Barbra Coffee, CEcD, EDFP
Executive Director
Barbra Coffee serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the Nevada Business Opportunity Fund and the Executive Director for the Nevada Women’s Business Center. She has a career that spans thirty years in community economic development. She has held positions in four states and most recently as Director of Economic Initiatives for the City of Tucson, AZ and, prior to that, Director of Economic Development for the City of Henderson, NV. She served three terms on the Board of Directors for the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and is a current member of the Board of Directors for University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute (OU EDI). In 2022, she was named Economic Developer of the Year by Arizona Association of Economic Development. Barbra’s small business experience comes from having operated family businesses including a quilt shop and a bed and breakfast. Her first career in radio allowed her to hone her marketing and communication skills at an early age. Barbra has a B.S. in Communications from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s degree from the University of St. Thomas (Houston) in International Studies. She is a certified economic developer (CEcD) and an Economic Development Finance Professional credential (EDFP).
